Michael Mattioni Elected Chancellor of Justinian Society

MichaelMattioni-lrMichael Mattioni, President of Mattioni, Ltd., was elected Chancellor of the Justinian Society on Monday June, 2, 2014. He was a long term member of its Board of Directors, and served as Vice-Chancellor for the past two years. Jennifer Popelack, an Associate Attorney at Mattioni, Ltd. was also elected as a member of the Board.

The Justinian Society was founded in 1935, for attorneys, judges, and law students of Italian ancestry. The Society’s members honor their heritage by active involvement in the legal community, and in numerous activities to foster and encourage respect for the law and the legal profession by engaging in civic duties, charities, administering justice and promoting legal studies.

Michael Mattioni is a 1986 graduate of Villanova University with a degree in finance and business, and earned his JD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in 1989. Following graduation he joined Mattioni, Ltd. as an Associate in practice with his father, John, and uncle Eugene, who are long term members of the Justinian Society. Michael also was awarded his Masters in Law in Taxation from the Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Michael was elected President of Mattioni, Ltd. in 2008 where he focuses his practice in corporate, business organizations, real estate, land use and zoning, taxation and estate planning. His education and experience permits him to serve the special needs of the business community. Michael is an active planner and participant in seminars on zoning and land use issues for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and other organizations.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Michael is active in serving his community in many civic and charitable activities, including serving as past chair of the Olde City District, and as solicitor for Associazione Regionale Calabrese, the Americans of Italian Heritage Council, and as Trustee of Green Lane United Methodist Church. He is also an active member of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Maritime Academy Charter School and as coach in several youth leagues.
