Industrial Refrigeration Technical College is pleased and excited to announce the opening of their hands-on CO2 lab. The first CO2 refrigeration course was held February 26th- February 28th, 2014. This course provides a strong foundation in the understanding of CO2 refrigeration systems. With training taking place in the brand-new, hands-on CO2 training lab, attendees learned how to properly and efficiently operate a CO2 refrigeration system.
The CO2 refrigeration course encompasses the specific properties of CO2, safety, design, installation and maintenance. It also includes the advantages of using CO2, and the functionality of different types of refrigeration systems: Cascade systems using ammonia or other refrigerant as the high temperature condensing medium, transcritical, pumped liquid recirculation, secondary coolant and direct expansion.
